Dee Ocleppo Makes a statement for fall 2015

You might not have heard of Dee Ocleppo handbags yet, but expect that to change. Dee Ocleppo launched her handbag line in 2012, and this year, Dee is already making an impact on the accessory market. We featured Dee last year when we looked in her handbag, and this past fashion week we joined Dee, her husband (Tommy Hilfiger) and a group editors in her apartment or condo in The Plaza to preview her fall 2015 collection.

I told Dee when I walked in that her apartment or condo just so happened to be the best backdrop for her fall 2015 line; the colors melded together with Dee and Tommy’s decoration seamlessly. Dee spends a lot more time traveling than lots of people I know and picked up inspiration around the world for this collection.

Dee’s handbags are made in Italy, and what makes them stick out is her combination the classic silhouettes alongside interchangeable covers. The covers allow you to transition a bag from day to evening or just give it an entirely new look, ranging from exotic skins to raffia and beyond.

When I spoke to Dee about her fall 2015 collection, she told me:

Fall 15 was inspired by the beautiful imagery of Turkey and all things Ottoman. There were so lots of terrific and inspiring things to draw upon, whether it was the rich jewel tones and metallics of the Grand fete or the a lot more earthy tones of the spice market. We also touched upon the beautiful Iznic tiles and even the evil eye. I happen to be half Turkish, so this season was a genuinely a passionate project for me. the most crucial aspect of the collection, besides quality and design, would have to be the adaptability and ability to have different looks from one bag. As a woman who travels ALL the time, it is so convenient and functional and makes my bags special and unique.

Dee’s husband Tommy Hilfiger has been in the industry for 30 years and definitely shares his service knowledge of the ins and outs with his wife, but the bags are a project Dee is tremendously immersed in herself. She’s found her niche, and if her spring and fall collections are an indication (which I say they are), I expect to see Dee create a place for herself in the handbag market.

You can shop Dee Ocleppo by means of her web site or Saks.com.
